Afternoon we will stroll the Santo Domingo market for a good introduction to local foods, crafts and culture. | Monte Alban is the ancient Zapotec capital that sits on a hill just west of town. It commands a panoramic view and was first occupied around 500 BC. | |
| Day 3 | Oaxaca | Lots of free time during the day to take in local sights- churches, museums, etc as you like. | There are any options including a hike, a cooking class, or just hanging out on the plaza and watching Oaxaca go by. | ||
| Day 4 | Oaxaca | Today we travel to nearby villages to the east to take in local village Culture. | The small towns around Oaxaca City carry a vibrant dose of Oaxacan life…textiles, mescal, and more. | ||
| Day 5 | San Jose del Pacifico | Pacifico Lodge | B | This morning there is some relax time then down through chocolate country and up into the high jungles. | Overnight in this cabana lodge in the misty forests above the coast. |
