When is the best time of year to experience Copper Canyon?

Just about any time of year works--and every season has its positives. Soem prefer fall with green and water abounding. Some like winter or spring when the weather is more stabil. Summer is a neat time and we usually emphasize the higher areas.

More info on seasons.

What are the trips like?

We include the famous CHEPE train, local lodges and eateries, seeing the Raramuri Indian communities, and lots of time to soak in the canyon views and the relaxed Sierra Madre vibe.

Comments from some recent Authentic Copper Canyon guests...we get notes like this all the time.

Dave--I just wanted to thank you for an amazing experience. The itinerary you put together worked perfectly and the quality of everything was exactly right for each place we visited. It is rare that things in this day and age live up to the hype, but I have to say that time after time we were left speechless as the experience of the reality exceeded the hype. The train journey to El Fuerte and back-- wow! It was fantastic the way our guide always told us when to be at the open window and which side to get the best views…. and what views!!! The view of the Canyon from our room must be the best view in the world …Grand Canyon eat your heart out! At no time in our two weeks did we ever feel at all at risk. It is obvious that as long as you are sensible, Mexico offers no more risk to travelers than most other countries in the world. All your guides were so knowledgeable and helpful. We cannot praise them enough. Scenery… ancient ruins … the people … the food …wow, wow, wow!!! Thank you, Charles and Angie Coker
