Here are a few resources- book form – that I recommend for Copper Canyon travelers:
-For lingo- “Mexican Spanish“, a neat little book in “Phrasebooks” series from Lonely Planet.
-For Tarahumara culture- “In the Sierra Madre” by Jeff Biggers from Univ of Illinois Press.
-The barefoot running craze and the fleet footed Tarahumara- “Born to Run” by Chris McDougall.
-Tarahumara ways and lore- “Tarahumara:Where Night is the Day of the Moon” by Bernard Fontana.
I always try to take along a good book to Copper Canyon...for that quiet moment on the train or by a fire- like here in Cuiteco.
